This is a site that discusses many of the modern challenges facing the United States. The title to this page addresses the first challenge, which is the myth that....
The truth is that:
The Declaration of Independence gave birth to the United States. God is at the center of the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution specifies our form of government. God is acknowledged by the Constitution.
The "...Lord..." who is acknowledged by the US Constitution, and the Creator who is identified in the Declaration of Independence as the Author of human rights, is one and the same God. He is a patient, loving God, who is seeking the hearts and loyalty of all men. But, that same Lord is also a Judge - a Judge who, in His appointed time, will execute judgment on those who reject Him and, in their rejection, support positions and ideas such as those noted in the table below.

In the past, God has specifically judged the United States in one very prominent area: slavery. This was recognized by Abraham Lincoln when he declared, in his Second Inaugural address, that God was judging the country for slavery:

"Fondly do we hope, fervently do we pray, that this mighty scourge of war may speedily pass away. Yet, if God wills that it continue until all the wealth piled by the bondsman's two hundred and fifty years of unrequited toil shall be sunk, and until every drop of blood drawn with the lash shall be paid by another drawn with the sword, as was said three thousand years ago, so still it must be said "the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether."" |
Today, abortion has become the modern equivalent of slavery. Since Roe V Wade, over 40 million unborn children have been killed. Per statistics from a number of sources, the number of abortion deaths in the US has now surpassed the number of US slave deaths. It is quite possible that, just as God brought the Civil War as judgment, today we are beginning to see the judgments of God (e.g., Katrina) on the US for the continued killing of the most defenseless of His children.
In Old Testament times, the Ammonites (and perhaps others) worshiped the god Molech or Moloch. Integral to this worship was child sacrifice. Parents would sacrifice - kill and burn - their children in order to obtain favor from Moloch. 'Favor' meant that they sought benefits to themselves at the expense - at the death - of one of their children. The benefits they were seeking included prosperity and personal comfort.
Today, the vast majority of abortions are performed for reasons quite similar to the reasons used by Molech worshipers to kill their children. Today, the vast majority of those women who have abortions do so in order to protect their prosperity and personal comfort. Therefore, except for those very, very few women who have abortions because their physical heath is at grave risk, the vast majority of women who have abortions, and those who support such practices, have become the modern equivalent of Molech worshipers.
Secularism, Atheism, Communism and the Democratic Party
At the heart of Communism lies Dialectical and Historical Materialism. Essentially, these two concepts equate to the theories of physical and social evolution, and contain the ideas of Atheism and Secularism. These concepts and theories are antagonistic to the foundation of America, to science, and to truth.
Both 'Materialism's', therefore, by opposing fundamental truths of science and culture, undermine the ability of the United States to develop industrially and intellectually, to educate its citizens, and to protect and grow human rights.
The Democratic Party has removed God from its set of principles, and finds no place for God in the public arena. Its approach to almost all issues is governed by approaches founded on Dialectical and Historical Materialism. The Democratic Party has therefore adopted the fundamental tenets of Communism, and has become the defacto, new Communist Party.
Evolution, or 'Feces to Species"
Believing in the theory of evolution is, fundamentally, believing in the theory that life arose from the ancient equivalent of a modern cess pool or sewer system. Stated differently, belief in evolution is the same as believing in 'Feces to Species.'
Believing in evolution is the same as believing that a modern city, with all of its buildings, power systems, water systems, waste systems, furniture in buildings, murals, signs, traffic lights - that it all came about through chance, and that there was no designer behind it.
Statistics and probability have demonstrated, again and again, that the chance of life arising from non-life is statistically impossible. Put another way, the chance of life arising out of non-life is the same as the chance of drawing the winning ticket in a lottery where the organizers of the lottery never printed a winning ticket. In such a lottery, its organizers would have committed a crime - a scam -, and they would be jailed. Today, in the case of the theory of evolution, we have a similar situation, where society in general has bought into the scam of evolution. And in doing so, they have rejected reason, science, and the God who made us all.
As discussed in the section on Secularism, evolution is at the heart of Communism, and is opposed to truth, science and the Creator of our fundamental human rights. Continued belief in evolution will result more and more in a society opposed to the ideals in the Declaration of Independence. Thus, continued societal belief in evolution will destroy the foundation of the United States.
Slavery, repression, communism, despotism, Nazism and every other repressive and evil form of government and rule, throughout history, have all had one thing in common: the belief in, and spirit of, evolution.
Why does evolution remain a guiding force in our society, in spite of the facts that it is opposed to the Creator foundation upon which the United States was founded, and that it is unsupported by science and reason? The answer is identified in the Bible - in the book of Romans:

Romans 1:18 "For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness..." |
Romans tells us that people suppress(deny) the truth by unrighteousness (believing lies), so that they can justify their unrighteous lives. Thus, humans, by their nature, are opposed to the truth and to God. Evolution, by opposing both, is the perfect theory for human nature. It gives human kind a theory that justifies their actions, and shields them from the truth.
Notice also that God's wrath comes upon those who suppress the truth. Therefore, adherence to the theory of evolution will prove to be disastrous for any society, to include the United States, for two fundamental reasons:
The term 'sodomy' has its roots in the Old Testament of the Bible. The related term 'Sodomite' referred to men devoted to unnatural lust as a religous rite in honor of the pagan goddess Ashtoreth. It was termed 'unnatural lust' because these men engaged with other men in anal intercourse and related activities - activities for which the human body was clearly not designed, thereby violating the Laws of Nature. The term Sodomite also included the men of Sodom, who engaged in these same unnatural practices, and because of which God killed them and destroyed their city, because their actions violated the Laws of God.
In the United States today, 'Homosexuality' has replaced 'Sodomy', but the philosophy and practices are the same. Homosexualtiy violates the Laws of Nature, because the human body and sexual organs are clearly not designed for homosexual activities. Homosexuality violates the Laws of God, because both Old and New Testaments condemn it. As in the Old and New Testaments, God is patient, and calls all to repentence. And as in the Old and New Testaments, if God's calls to repentance are repeatedly ignored, judgment will come from God.
AIDS is clearly judgment from God. Not in a direct sense, such as in the destruction of Sodom, but in a indirect sense: when the Laws of Nature are violated, the natural consequences are negative. If homosexuality did not exist, we would probably have never heard of AIDS. The AIDS epidemic is a natural result of homosexuality. Sex/sexual intercourse gives birth to children. Homosexuality/anal intercourse gives 'birth' to AIDS and a whole host of diseases and negative physical effects.
It is interesting timing that, even as the United States was reeling from the destruction wrought by Hurricane Katrina, the California Legislature voted to legalize homosexual marriage. Thus, in the face of God's probable judgment for our cursing of the nation of Israel, California lawmakers openly defied both the Laws of Nature and the Laws of God. If this open acceptance and endorsement of homosexuality continues, which in reality is a direct defiance of the God who made us, it is only a matter of time before that same God brings direct judgment on us because of that homosexuality.

Radical Islam and Opposition to the State of Israel
Nazism sought the destruction of the Jewish race prior to and during World War II. Since the birth of Israel, the Muslim and Arab worlds have sought the destruction of the state of Israel. The United States has, in many ways, greatly supported Israel throughout its history. However, the United States has also undermined Israel with its continued pressure to "withdraw" from "Palestinian" lands. This pressure culminated in Israel's withdrawal of settlements from the West Bank and Gaza Strip, which was completed on 23 August.
Interestingly, August 23 was also the day that Hurricane Katrina was born.
Israel's withdrawal, which was, in a huge measure, a result of continued US pressure over a number of years, hugely undermines Israel's security, is viewed by Israel's enemies as a tremendous victory and first step in their quest to destroy Israel, and has served to create a terrorist 'nation' dedicated to Israel's destruction.
In light of the United States' undermining of Israel's security, and strengthening its enemies, the words of Genesis 12:3 are significant:

The United States, in pressuring Israel to withdraw, has, in effect, cursed Israel. |
The withdrawal was completed on 23 August. On 23 August, Hurricane Katrina was born. The destruction that Katrina has brought to the United States is, perhaps, the judgment of God upon the United States for cursing the nation of Israel.

We read, in the Old Testament of the Bible, how God used Moses to lead the children of Israel out of Egypt. The story tells us how Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his heart after each of God's judgments, refusing to believe that God was indeed judging, or that the judgments would continue if he did not relent. Has the United States, as a society, learned from God's probable judgment via Hurricane Katrina? It does not appear so. There have been no calls to repentance, no recognition that perhaps the Author of our human rights is speaking to us. Ophelia has come and gone, causing some but not a great deal of damage. Was Ophelia a mercifully soft message from our Lord? Was He hoping that we might yet hear Him before His judgment falls harshly once again? If it was, we have not heard Him. Rita has come and gone, causing extensive damage. Many tornados have come and gone, also causing extensive damage. Recently, a portion of the marble facade on the Supreme Court building fell off, a message from the hand of the Creator that a Supreme Court supporting the genocide of the unborn is nothing but a facade in the eyes of God. However, we - President Bush, the Congress, national leaders, and even the Christian community - still refuse to acknowledge that God is judging us. We are like Pharoah, when he kept refusing to acknowledge that God was judging Egypt, when he kept hardening his heart in order to deny the truth. We continue in our ways, without any change, and continuing to declare how we shall rebuild 'higher than before.' It is, sadly, reminiscent of what the builders of the Tower of Babel were saying before God judged them, destroying their society. |
President Bush, it is time for you to be a man - the man that our Lord called you to be.
It is time for you to lead a national call for repentance, as Lincoln did in 1863, when he declared:

"We have been the recipients of the choicest bounties of Heaven. We have been preserved, these many years, in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power, as no other nation has ever grown. But we have forgotten God. We have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace, and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us; and we have vainly imagined, in the deceitfulness of our hearts, that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success, we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace, too proud to pray to the God that made us! It behooves us then, to humble ourselves before the offended Power, to confess our national sins, and to pray for clemency and forgiveness." |
Lincoln recognized that the Civil War was God's judgment for our national sins. Will President Bush be man enough to do the same thing today - to recognize that God is once again judging us for our national sins, and to call us as a nation to national repentance?
In Conclusion, what is the status of the United States today?
The United States:
Katrina was, perhaps, only the beginning of judgment for these four profoundly evil positions.
